The Letter form Semrush CEO and Co-Founder

 Dear all,

This March we became a public company, and each quarter we report publicly on our performance. We have just finished our Q2 earnings call, and I’d love to share our news with the entire Semrush community.

I won’t bore you with our financials too much but will highlight our main point: we achieved $188 million ARR as of June 30, 2021, and it is 57% year over year growth. This is very exciting! You can find more numbers here.

I want to touch a little bit more on our main product highlights:

New Keyword Difficulty

We updated the keyword difficulty metric in May, and the formula is publicly available. This metric is crucial for both entry-level marketers and seasoned SEO professionals. Keywords are not only about relevance and volume but also competition, or how difficult it is to rank for them. Find easier opportunities with less competition.


Largest [and free] backlink database

Our goal was to create the best backlink tool, which meant being the fastest at reporting new links, and holding the largest database. After a year and a half of dedicated focus, 30,000 expert engineering and data scientist hours, adding over 500 new servers, and setting up 14,000 TBs of storage, we’ve achieved both. We made it free, available to everyone for a limited time.


App Center

We continue to pursue our mission of delivering all necessary marketing tools in one platform. The next step on this mission is our Semrush App Center – a marketplace with hand-picked marketing solutions. Currently, there are 8 apps available to help Semrush users with solutions ranging from mobile app insights to Semrush Local solutions. Reach out to our App Center product team if you know of any apps we should add or have one of your own you feel would benefit our audience!


Always be testing

I am a strong believer in A/B testing, and we have implemented it across the company, from product teams to HR and office maintenance. In SEO, experiments are vital. A quarter or two ago, we released SplitSignal, a tool that helps understand what SEO changes have caused traffic increases through split testing. I want to mention it now because we see great results from our customers who use it. Testing is a must for big websites and valuable for any site with over 1,000 unique visitors coming from search.


We released over 30 product updates in Q2. As usual, most of our improvements come from our conversations with customers. Please always share your feedback and ideas with us if you have any thoughts on what we should develop next.

What is the court declares itself incompetent

Incidents of competence.

- We need a systematic challenge to jurisdiction is not an obstacle.

Different branches of Business Law and Corporate Law

Business law and other branches (Corporate - - commercial law - competition law, companies in difficulty, payment instrument and credit ...)

Business law is a branch of private law which includes a set of rights relating to corporate affairs such as contract law, intellectual property, corporate law, procedure, tax law, criminal law, commercial law, economic law, competition law, the distribution law, labor law, law of consumption, etc.

Business law regulates the activity of merchants and industrialists in the exercise of their professional activity, in short, it relates to corporate life.

Corporate law is the branch of private law who studies civil and commercial companies. The rules of corporate law provide all necessary provisions for the creation, operation as well as the eventual liquidation of the company. Also, this area of ​​law is concerned with relations between the various stakeholders of the company shareholders, officers and directors in particular, as well as relationships the company has with third parties.

Commercial law can be defined as the branch of law responsible for the regulation of relations related to people, actions, places and commercial contracts. This right means all the traders to standards in the exercise of their profession. At the general level, it is necessary to say that this is the branch of law that regulates the exercise of commercial activity.

The Competition Law is therefore to maintain effective competition on the market. From the above, we can suggest that the Competition Law has two distinct branches:

- The first includes the rules that are intended to maintain competition in bounds, to ensure it occurs in a fair, reasonable, temperate. From this angle, the Competition Law considers competition as an acquired data and is concerned to limit excesses.

- The second part comprises the rules designed to protect competition and foster development. These rules not condemn excesses, but the restrictions of competition resulting from certain behavior of businesses, called anti competitive practices.
Law firms in difficulty or insolvency law is not the law of the "bankruptcy" of traders, it is a right to today's difficulties all commercial, craft, agricultural and liberal all independent professionals.

The law firms in difficulty responds to a philosophy that has evolved from the original concept of the bankruptcy law, which responded to an elimination logic. The bankruptcy law was marked by a desire to spread the defaulter with company assets allocation procedure between creditors. Now, this right 3 objectives:

Prevention of business difficulties by various mechanisms with varying degrees of success
The treatment of the difficulty itself (Guyon "the insolvency law is a pathological law, a right to failure")
The sanction of the entrepreneur who has financial difficulties in fraud, incompetence or dishonesty

Payment instruments and credit are the means of implementation of an obligation to pay money and specific operations financing. They are, therefore, the frontispiece of contract law, commercial law, banking law and strict sense of the financial law in the broad sense.

The branches of Private Law

A. The branches of Private Law

Each branch of private law that separates, gives birth to a new branch. Trade Law leaves the Civil Law but broke out in company law, banking law, corporate law and difficulties right shops.

Through this phenomenon appeared new branches by specialization of education, the proliferation of codes (insurance law, construction law, computer law).

Some authors speak of an artificial specialization. Do not believe that a branch of private law is justified by the mere fact of an application of common law for purpose. So for insurance law, the idea that we apply the common law of insurance contracts. The insurance contract seen as a particular branch of law with the insurance law is conceivable only if the law in question is autonomous (it follows from the principle and distinct concept of common law).

In this way we can recognize several branches:

    The criminal law is to ensure the punishment of offenses. It appears to be the sanctionateur right of all rights. It holds a special place. civil procedure called private judicial law is nothing other than the litigation aspect of private law.

    Private international law regulates private individuals when the report contains a foreign element. This law is very specific, it combines the conflict rules that determine the applicable rule and the substantive rules that give a solution when the substantive law. This right is important in a world where the economy is globalized.

    Commercial law relates to traders, their business and commercial acts performed by any person. This right may claim an old self (the mercatorium juice). Its origin is medieval.

    Labour law applies to individual and collective labor relations between employer and employee. Its autonomy is the most recent. At the time this law was not built on principles and concepts, the civil law (common law private law) which applied in terms of nullity of contracts or termination with its consequences .

Environment and Civil Protection, the law of equality and local government

In addition, the Constitution has admitted another appeal, this time presented by the Government, against several articles of the Law on the National Civil Protection System approved by the Government of Mariano Rajoy in 2015. The court has given guarantees within fifteen days to appear in person in the proceedings or make submissions.

The appeal was filed on April 5 claiming the Government that this rule limiting the exercise of powers and the powers granted to the Government. It also argued that contained "a large number of concretions" and "generic concepts" that did not allow narrow those issues addressed in the law.

  • Accounting operations in accordance with current regulations and organizational policies.
  • Manage cash sticking to regulations and business requirements.
  • Learning outcomes practical stage, to understand texts written in English and aurally, promote the ideal interaction with himself, with others and with nature in the labor and social contexts.
  • Process information according to the needs of the organization.
  • Produce texts in English in written and oral form.
  • Coordinate the processes of the organization in accordance with policies and regulations in force

Chart of Accounts (COA) issues with ERP Development Team

Attached file contained list of material…that are shown as received during April-2014 in stock report. There is no indication whether it is IDTM (Inter Department Transfer Memo) received or GRN Received. So, Sir please help me to know the actual status of above transactions.


Please include these products for Costing under MIS (Management Information System), in order to close accounting events. Another 2 products are in line of Formulation those I will provide whenever validation team adds in MIS (Management Information System). Thanks in advance.


Regarding Chart of Accounts [COA] we need KPMG's involvement . In COA (Chart of Accounts) we have Natural Account Code, Department/Cost centre ,Location ,Line of Business and Legal Entity. About Natural Account Code we have some observations what we informed to KPMG , like- Salary portion is not yet ready for final COA (Chart of Accounts), we have requirement about Field Force Expenses, Distribution Expenses, Marketing Expenses, General Administration Expenses, International Business Expenses High level those heads are under Profit & Loss Account. Our requirements was Bold Head wise detail Expenses list, cause we will prepare the budget of all those main heads based on detail expenses. So that we requesting you to please take care about our requirement.


Impact of HR Organization and Cost Center in ERP System

Just to clarify: it has been confirmed by the KPMG team that once the HR updates employee database with Organization and Department from the core HR module, the one to one mapping of cost centers will be generated automatically. However, we are yet to see that demonstration in the system as its planned under the post go live activities.

At the same time, “yes” the Payroll team can manually change the cost centers accordingly at this point of time, which we have already tested. Hence, the costs for that particular employee will be done under the new assigned cost center (department LOV-List of Values of the COA-Chart of Accounts) but we are not confirmed by the KPMG team whether this facility will remain as it is during go live. This is FYI (For your information) only.


If demonstration in the system is under the post go live activities, what, if it poses error! Will we be able to rectify errors then! If yes! OK.


Let me correct the wording: it will be available during go live and not after go live. However, to answer your question: KPMG hasn’t said anything about error rectification yet. We’ll have to see the demonstration in the live environment to this call. Every problem has a solution, so chill out! Anyways, we will running Payroll in both legacy and Oracle systems for 3 months in parallel to achieve consistency and stability.

Information for the price of diluent products

Please let me know if you have values for BEN_DEPARTMENT and BEN_LOCATION Value set (Values for Department and Location in Chart of Account) which we can use for Validation instance ( Nearly Same set up we shall do in Production).

Please provide the list of cost centers i.e. BEN_Department at the earliest. This is urgently required for production. 

I have made the necessary correction. Please note that further corrections would have to take place after I return on the 18th March, 2014. Have a safe trip. 

We need the product cost for a few products. Also separately provide us the information for the price of diluent (100ml & 250ml bottle) and hanger inside.

Our client is asking for the price quotation in our existing pack and also for the vial only (no diluent & no hanger) . Looking forward for your prompt response. Please help.

Last date of Quote submission of Tender for UNICEF

Good Afternoon! As you know the last date of Quote submission of Tender for UNICEF Products (planned to be produced under FSFF Plant) is on 10th Jan-2016, we are still missing a few Packing Materials Rates for Product Costing. 
 
I have already discussed with Local Purchased In charge regarding the issue (on 30-01-2015) & hoped to get the rates by today (01-02-2015). Could any corner please say us the estimated rates of CBC & IFC for the specification defined in the FLP! 
 
We have rates against Yemen and Denmark consignments, will it match the current one? Please advise me how to proceed. Please Find attach the Data migration Template.

In the attached sheet I have covered one example according you have to provide the cost of all the Items in the required format by 15th Feb’14. Do let me know in case you have any challenges in understanding.

Two rates of Materials (Dienogest & Neotame) in MDR (Materials Disposition Request)10 are unknown and given for quantity disposition only. If you think to have all the MDRs been executed as of December 31, 2013, please forward them quickly and have them signed off, as the Books of Accounts for 2013 are still open and likely to be opened  January 31, 2014. After this date, all MDR (Materials Disposition Requests ) should have been executed at the rates of 2014.

If the responsible bodies are supplier, we should not consider price. Please check the issue and prepare report accordingly.

Now it’s a matter of question that how much cooperation you can do to others while you can’t cooperate yourself?? So, where attentiveness is a concern, waiting for month after month is inevitable!

Did your query in fist mail as below contents these requirements or only the Material Stock report? From whom and last when you got these data?

I don’t know whether Sonata has any Mailing language and communication etiquette or not. Next time I will not feel any comfort to communicate with you because of the lack of decency in approach!

A formal notice of resignation as intern, submitted by my colleague

Please accept this as formal notice of my resignation as intern (finance department) effective from 1st November 2013.

Working for this company has been a wonderful experience. I appreciate the responsibilities and opportunities that have been provided to me during my time with the company. I feel privileged to have been part of such a professional team and will miss all my colleagues.

I have enjoyed my stay and gained a great deal of knowledge and experience as a result of my employment here. This wasn't an easy decision to make but now I am much concerned about my growth and want to pursue career in much stable position.

I want to thank you personally for giving me the opportunity to work for this company and enhance my expertise. I wish this company continued success in the future.


This was quite a tough decision for me to make but I am really concerned now about my position in the company which is still an ‘intern’ even after working for prolonged 16 months. Besides I no longer can see any hope of being an employee of the company. My stay will only stretch my experience as intern. So I have decided to go back to my studies and look for better opportunities in much stable position.

ERP Implementation Discussion-Testing Costing Scenerios

Can you please give me an update on the OPM Data Master(s) for the selected CRP 14 Products? As per Cost Accountant, he has only received for some tablets. He would require some time before the CRP scenario on the 23rd September to do the Costing Master for CRP. 

We are still working on the OPM data master for the 14 selected products. I hope that we would be able to submit OPM Data master of all the CRP products by Saturday. Hope it will be okay with you.
 
I have no problem but our Finance department, specially Cost Accountant will be in trouble. If manufacturing team completes the OPM master on Saturday next i.e. 22nd September, 2012 then our Finance department is left with zero(0) days to complete their tasks before CRP, which is supposed to start on 23rd September, 2012 (Sunday). You can take this issue to KPMG and ask whether any level of extension is possible or not .


I can submit the OPM Data Master of 5 CRP product selected from Potent by tomorrow. But I cannot assure you that Production would be able to submit the Data Masters of other 9 products (from General, Animal Health,  Soft Gel and Sachets) by tomorrow. He will give you a mail regarding the time he will need to complete & submit the Data Master...

I am still working on the OPM data master of CRP products.I hope I will be able to submit the data master of  9 products by coming Friday.
 
The attached file contains the data master of others 8 products.Here I submit the OPM of individual 8 products.I can't submit the general data master of individual plant (General, Animal Health,  Soft Gel and Sachets) wise.I hope our finance department can start their costing activities with help of these data,besides that I will try my best to submit the general data according to plant wise within short time.
