Why the microSD card reader should not have a place on a smartphone

It is not a matter of manufacturing cost. Unlike the Samsung Galaxy S5, S6 and S6 Edge have been a warmer welcome from the public. However, they were not immune to bad reviews. Apart perhaps some flaws in design and prices that are not given to everyone, Samsung's new range of tops are not equipped with ports for microSD cards. Why this choice?

Like Samsung, the Chinese manufacturer Xiaomi also decided to overlook this port on the new smartphone Mi 4i.

"For high performance devices, we are basically against an SD card slot," says Vice President Hogo Barra, who believes that this technology will tend to disappear from the mobile landscape in the long term. But what is the reason?

The SD card would sacrifice autonomy, ergonomics and appearance, in addition to causing a number of malfunctions.

SD cards, especially when they are poor, are slow, they may stop working and create a number of errors.

However, as users do not always understand that it is the microSD card that is involved, they will tend to blame the phone and the manufacturer.

This is the argument of Xiaomi (and perhaps Samsung), which states that we should not expect to see too ports for SD cards to its future high-end.

Otherwise, we recall that a few months ago, Xiaomi launched a website to sell products in the United States. But we do not sell smartphones.
